WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – An armed felon has been arrested for stolen gun and drug charges in Williamson County.

On April 25th just before 5pm, Williamson County deputies were stationed at the intersection of 18th street and Stotlar Street in Herrin in an unmarked patrol vehicle.

They observed a male, James Inchcliff and a female Chelsea Phillips walking in the middle of the roadway on Ash Street after leaving a known residence involved in the distribution of drugs.

Philips was known to deputies to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Williamson County and Inchcliff is known from a recent arrest for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and methamphetamine.

Inchcliff noticed the patrol car and attempted to enter an abandoned residence, when officers ordered him to approach the patrol vehicle.

Inchcliff was found to be in possession of a handgun, a glass smoking pipe with two used syringes and an additional loaded magazine.

Inchcliff was cited for Pedestrian Walking on Roadway, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon, Possession of Stolen Firearm, and Armed Habitual Criminal

They were both transported to the Williamson County Jail.
