FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — Three people were hurt in a three vehicle crash involving a school bus Wednesday in Franklin County.

It happened at about 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 37 and Forrest Baptist Church Road.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Dave Bartoni, James Danielson, 75, was driving the school bus on Route 37 when he rear-ended a second vehicle that had stopped to make a turn onto Forrest Baptist Church Road.

The impact of the crash sent the second vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic where it hit a third vehicle.

Danielson, as well as the drivers of the other vehicles, received minor injuries. Only one child, a 13-year-old, was on the bus at the time of the accident. They were not hurt.

James Danielson was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
