SIU President Randy Dunn says he isn’t opposed to an idea being floated by a legislator that the state’s universities specialize in certain subject areas.

But Dunn tells Newsradio WJPF that the more popular majors – including those needed in a statewide workforce – should be readily available in all regions.

Dunn said he believes the Illinois Board of Higher Education should be looking at whether degree granting authority for some programs should be limited.
