The Illinois Tobacco Quitline is back up and running after a restoration of social service grants.

Gov. Bruce Rauner had originally announced that $26 million in grants would be cut due to budget constraints, and the Tobacco Quitline was one of the services which were subsidized with these funds. However due to an unexpectedly-high amount of income tax revenue, the funding was restored.

Employees returned to work yesterday, with phone lines opening at noon.
