Disaster preparedness will be the theme at SIU tomorrow.

The University will be testing the skills of students in an advanced first aid class in a training exercise.

The disaster scenario will involve a building collapse caused by a gas explosion. Participants will include 20 students, Carbondale firefighters, Jackson County first responders, SIU Police, along with the volunteer Jackson County Medical Corps.

The training exercise will begin at 9:30 am at the Carbondale Firefighter training station on Bigler Rd.
