CARBONDALE- Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that occurred around 7 pm on Saturday, April 9.

Police responded to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale of a report of a victim who was being treated with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

According to a report from Carbondale Police,  the victim the driver of another vehicle came to a stop in the 900 block of East College Street. An occupant of the suspect vehicle immediately exited and engaged the victim in a brief conversation before attacking and stealing money from the victim. As the victim and the suspect engaged in a struggle, the victim was shot in the leg by the suspect.

The identities of those involved have not been released. Police are looking for a black male around 6′-6’2″, between 25-30 years old, 180 lbs, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The vehicle is described as a 1980’s silver/gray Chevy four-door, possibly a Caprice.
