Carbondale homeowners will have to shell out a bit more money after the city council approved a hike in property taxes.

The city will also be considering raising the amount of liquor licenses available within city limits.

Some city leaders were hoping for a 19% property tax increase.

A 10% increase was settled upon, leaving the city $100,000 short in its general fund.
