A Carbondale man who was being transported to the Choate Mental Health and Development Center broke from his restraints and jumped out of the ambulance which he was riding in.

35-year old Salim Baker them forced his way into a car with a female driver and an infant near Pleasant Hill Road in Carbondale. Baker then fled on foot while on East Jackson Street and fled on foot.

Baker was arrested in his home without incident on charges of trespassing in a vehicle and disorderly conduct.

Baker was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
