MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A Cairo man is facing a pair of assault charges and one weapons charge after police say he brought a gun to his Marion workplace and threatened his coworkers.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out Saturday to Aisin after getting reports of a man there threatening other people with a gun.

Arriving at the scene, police say they found 43-year-old Ronald Bellamy driving away from the area. Police stopped Bellamy’s vehicle, detained Bellamy, and say they later found a 9 millimeter pistol, two magazines, and eight bullets.

Ronald Bellamy was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and a single count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. According to online court documents, he was cited and then released from jail with a February 21 court date.
