The former treasurer of the Perry County Agricultural Society, Billy Harris, was sentenced Wednesday July 27th to 21 months in prison for defrauding the PCAS out of more than $148,000 dollars.

Harris pleaded guilty in January and admitted that from June 2012 through October 2018, he purchased items for personal use and paid for personal expenses from the PCAS bank account. He also admitted writing checks from the PCAS account to himself and his spouse, and forging a board member’s signature on those checks.

Harris has been ordered to pay the full amount in restitution and will also serve a two year period of supervised release following his prison sentence.
