Carbondale Police responded to the 700 block of South Lewis Lane early Thursday morning regarding a report of someone firing a handgun into a residence.

Officers arrested 45-year-old Maza Lynch of Carbondale, who was in possession of a handgun. Police said she fired a shot in the direction of an acquaintance during an argument. No injuries were reported.

Lynch was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. She is in the custody of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
