PERRY COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — A Perry County man arrested earlier this year on animal cruelty charges will spend about the next 2 1/2 months behind bars.

A 2018 video of Jordan Anheuser, 20, kicking and stomping a fawn went viral earlier this year.

Anheuser pleaded guilty to a felony animal torture charge. The misdemeanor animal cruelty charge was dropped in exchange for the plea.

Anheuser was sentenced to 180 days in the Perry County Jail with time served, meaning he’ll be released in about 80 days.

Anheuser will then be on probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.
