WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of hemp plants taken from a farm in the rural Marion area.

The plants have an estimated value of over $8,000 if they were to be properly processed.

One juvenile suspect has been arrested. Investigators are working to identify additional suspects.

The stolen plants were intended for industrial use and contained only negligible amounts of TCH, the chemical that produces a high.
