UNION COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – One man is under arrest after a police chase through two counties.

The incident started around 5:30 PM Tuesday after police in Jonesboro responded to a complaint of a man waiving a gun near a home.

When police arrived on the scene, they learned that the suspect had already fled south on Highway 127.

Police provided chase. The suspects evading police, leading them through Union County and into Alexander County.

The car chase came to an end near Sandusky, when police forced the car off the road. The suspect fled on foot, but was captured a short time later.

He’s been charged with Evading Law Enforcement with more formal charges pending.
