WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJPF) – A bill signed into law Tuesday by President Trump means the Delta Queen can cruise the Mississippi and her tributaries once again.

The riverboat was mothballed in 2008 when it’s exemption from the 1966 Safety at Sea Act was not renewed.

The Delta Queen is currently docked in Louisiana. Major repairs, costing up to $12 million, will be needed before the first trip can happen.
