A group of people who parked cars at the DuQuoin State Fair have filed a lawsuit, seeking payment for working the fair.

The five plaintiffs allege in the suit the defendants violated federal work laws, discrimination laws and committed libel and slander, according to The Southern Illinoisan.

Named as defendants in the case are Brenda Jefferson, office manager of the Combined Veterans Association, the Illinois Department of Agriculture and assistant state fair manager Tibretta Reiman.

The CVA was responsible for parking detail and collecting fees at the fair and was in the second year of their contract.
