All indication is that state lawmakers are on track to have a full year’s balanced budget before the Thursday deadline, but the lone remaining factor seems to be will it get the governor’s support.

After canceling session Saturday and Sunday, budgeteers continued to craft the budget. Democratic state Sen. Heather Steans, who’s been involved in crafting the budget, said Monday the four caucus leaders are very close, but couldn’t say what the governor’s position is.

Rauner’s office said negotiations on a full-year budget are “ongoing.”

Thursday is the deadline to pass a budget.
