In a special meeting held Wednesday night, the Carterville School Board voted to sue the Village of Cambria if that board votes to pass a residential TIF district within the town this afternoon.

The rubbing point between the two is the percentage of TIF funds Cambria should give the school district if a TIF district is enacted.

The village has offered 15 percent. Another private developer has reportedly offered an additional 10 percent of their cut.

The Carterville School District rejected that offer last night saying it was much lower than other intergovernmental agreements currently in place with neighboring towns that also have TIF districts.

The Cambria Village Board will have their vote Thursday afternoon at 4:00.
