A public hearing on the future of Carbondale’s old fire station will happen at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

According to the agenda put out Friday, the City of Carbondale has negotiated a contract with John Deas and Alison Smith to purchase the property at 300 South Oakland Avenue from the City for $50,000.

The pair intend to turn the old fire house into artists’ workshops, gallery space, and a craft beer tasting room featuring the products of local breweries.

That meeting it at 7:00 PM, Tuesday at City Hall.
