A new financial sustainability plan could bring big changes to SIU.

The proposal would cut $26 million out of the school’s budget.

SIU President Randy Dunn originally called for $30 million to be slashed in March.

If approved, it would combine a few of the programs currently offered, transfer some from one college to another, and eliminate several programs altogether.

SIU trustees will vote on the changes at their Thursday meeting in Springfield.
