A new art museum will be built on the Harrisburg campus of Southeastern Illinois College.

Yesterday, the college announced it had received a $2.5 million donation from Retired Air Force Colonel William Hise and his late twin brother, Air Force Brigadier General James Hise.

Construction on the new museum is set to begin later this year. It will be named for the Hise brothers’ sister, Ella Elizabeth Hise, a longtime art teacher. The museum will be designed as a center for regional art.
