A Cairo man has been sentenced to life in prison.

James Watts attempted to rob the First National Bank in Cairo on May 15, 2014. When three bank employees could not open the vault, he brutalled stabbed to death Anita Grace and Nita Smith, and critically injured a third employee.

Family members of the victims spoke at the sentencing and did not hold back their emotion – one victim’s husband told Watts he hopes he burns in hell.
