A new poll from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute finds that roughly 6 in 10 voters statewide disapprove of the jobs being done by both Republican Governor Bruce Rauner and Democratic Speaker of The House Mike Madigan.

Rauner, according to data from the poll, is slightly more popular here in Southern Illinois, with 36 percent of voters saying they approve of his job performance. Madigan scored a 23 percent approval rating in the same area.

Also revealed in the poll data were that most Illinois voters had no strong opinion on the remain three legislative leaders – Senate President John Cullerton,  Senate Minority Leader Christine Radagno, and House Minority Leader Jim Durkin.
