MURPHYSBORO- Murphysboro police responded to a 911 call at the corner of 12th and Hanson Street, around 8 am Wednesday morning, reporting a man was threatening another person with a shotgun.
Police had learned that an apparent road rage incident had happened, where two drivers had stopped at 12th and Hanson St. The suspect, James Kirby, 71, had taken a shotgun from his car and threatened the other driver.
The suspect had fled the scene but was later found by police. Kirby was taken to the Jackson County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon
