A tractor trailer hauling grain went off the road yesterday afternoon in Massac County.

According to the IL State Police, 51-year old John Travis of Metropolis was traveling along US Rt. 45 near the intersection with Burnett Road, when his vehicle ran off the right side of the highway.

Authorities say Travis lost control, causing the truck to overturn and spill grain.

Rt. 45 had to be closed for approximately one hour while the vehicle was being removed. Travis was cited for improper lane usage.
