CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — A community group is pushing SIU to review its sexual assault policies and re-open an investigation into a freshman’s rape complaint.

The Southern Illinoisan reports that a group known as The Consent Party is organizing a letter-writing campaign over a case involving a female student who claims she was sexually assaulted by a male classmate in late August.

Group leader Amanda Braden says the school did not find enough evidence to charge the student with sexual assault.

A university spokeswoman declined to discuss the case, citing student confidentiality.
