A crash in rural Ava Tuesday evening which left one person injured is under investigation. The accident happened just after 8 pm Tuesday on Marlboro Road at the intersection with Leon Lane.

A car registered to Michael Crowden was found after running off the road and hitting a culvert. One passenger was in the back seat and was injured.

The passenger, later identified as Jacob McCoy, was taken to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Michael Crowden was not at the scene of the accident when authorities arrived.
