JACKSON CO.- Two men of Jackson County were arrested on Monday after the Jackson County sheriff’s office received a call reporting a gun incident.

It was reported that two men were spotted near the Makanda Township Fire Station on Old Highway 51, and that one of them was  carrying a gun.

Deputies received descriptions of the two men ivolved in the incident and that the men left the scene and headed North on foot.

Police searched the area and arrested 44 year-old Darryl Hawkins and 30 year-old Keitric Carter, after deputies found a loaded firearm in their search.

Both men were arrested and taken to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is still ongoing.
