CHICAGO (AP) — Republican Governor-elect Bruce Rauner is planning a statewide tour by plane after ousting Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn.

Rauner spokesman Lance Trover says stops on Friday will include Marion and Springfield. Rauner will be at the Vault Café in Marion at 9:30 a.m.

Rauner is a venture capitalist from Winnetka who sought office for the first time. It was a tight contest between him and Quinn, who was seeking a second full term.

Rauner has named a transition team of dozens of advisers that includes two top Democrats, former White House chief of staff Bill Daley and former Southern Illinois University President Glenn Poshard. The team includes a mix of pastors, lawmakers and business leaders.
