An Ava man who was killed in a single-car crash Saturday night has been identified.

According to the Southern Illinoisan, 28 year-old David Gonzales was driving on Whitetail Road in Perry County when he wasn’t able to follow curves in the road, and soon later hit a tree.

Gonzales was pronounced dead just before midnight, and the Perry County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the crash.
