West Frankfort, Ill. – Morthland College is switching developers right before a ground breaking ceremony on new dormitories Wednesday.

The Daily American in West Frankfort reports college officials have named Brad McMillin of O’Fallon, originally from West Frankfort, as the lead developer for the Adams House dorms. Vice President Emily Hayes says the previous developer, Capstone Development Group of St. Louis, desired an “unimaginable level of engagement” when they asked to buy property on the 500 block of W. St. Louis Street in West Frankfort instead of leasing it.

McMillin reportedly says he will invest “considerably more” money in the dorms than Capstone. The previous group planned to build the dorms for $3 million dollars.

McMillin tells the Daily American he expects construction to begin in October.
