Congressman John Shimkus has announced that he will be seeking re-election.
Shimkus has been a member of Congress since 1997, and his re-election bid is being supported by State Senator Dave Luechtefeld, and State Rep. Terri Bryant.
When it comes to student loans, Shimkus says government involvement contributes to higher tuition costs and overall inefficiency.
Shimkus also re-affirmed his support for 2nd amendment rights, as well as coal and oil.
