Very little information has come out regarding a crash that closed I-57 last night near the Benton/West City exit, according to the Southern Illinoisan.

The crash took place in the southbound lanes near mile marker 71, and is believed to involve a car and a pedestrian.

One person was injured and airlifted from the crash site. Both lanes of traffic were closed as the Illinois State Police search out more details.
