No more “golden parachutes” for public officials under a bill passed by the Illinois Senate Wednesday.

The legislation limits government severance packages to a maximum of 20 week’s worth of pay, and prohibits any pay outs for employees fired for misconduct.

Bill sponsor, Senate President Tom Cullerton of says this is common sense reform.
