A National Weather Service survey has confirmed that there were three tornadoes on the ground in Southern Illinois Tuesday evening.

The most powerful, an EF-2, with estimated winds of up to 125 mph, touched down in eastern Williamson County, and traveled 12.5 miles through parts of Saline County destroying property and homes near Galatia.

The two other tornadoes were both EF-1’s.

The first, touched down in Carterville, with estimated wind estimated speeds of 105 mph, cut a path through Energy and, lifted off the ground 10.5 miles from where it started. Ending a little east of White Ash.

The second EF-1 tornado touched down about a mile north of Pittsburg, with wind estimated speeds of up to 95 mph, and traveled 2.5 miles to the north east.

No injuries or deaths were reported in any of the storms.
