It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Southern Illinois, despite the lack of snow on the ground.

Tonight in Carterville at 6, it’s the annual Downtown Christmas in Carterville, Carterville Mayor Brad Robinson says Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance as well as other fun holiday activities for any age.

Tomorrow night, the 25th annual Carbondale Lights Fantastic Parade kicks off. Weather is expected to be more hospitable compared to last year, so parade attendance is expected to be much higher. If you still need to warm up, Carbondale Mayor Mike Henry says the city can accommodate.

Shuttle buses to take parade watchers to the route will begin taking people at 4 o’clock from both the Murdale Shopping Center and University Mall.
