US Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) is among those unhappy about President Obama’s decision to veto the National Defense Authorization Act.

The bill would have provided $21.9 million in funding for Illinois, including $1.9 million for a new firing range in Sparta which would be used by the Illinois National Guard.

Kirk says the veto is deserving of a Congressional override, due to vast bipartisan, and bicameral support.

The veto also blocks the construction of 12 new F/A-18F Super Hornets at the St. Louis Boeing facility, which employs 2,000 Illinois workers.
