A Randolph Co. woman has pleaded guilty to creating fake identities used to collect public assistance money.

50-year old Mary Hurst of Steeleville pleaded guilty to one count of theft, five counts of wire fraud, and six counts of official misconduct yesterday.

Hurst is a former caseworker for the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office says Hurst used the fake identities to make withdrawals at ATMs, in all, stealing $114, 819 in state funds.

Hurst was ordered to pay back the stolen money, and was sentenced to 30 months of probation.
