Police are asking for help from the public in finding the suspect who robbed the Casey’s General Store in Zeigler on Wednesday night.

They believed the suspect to be a white male. But after further investigation, authorities state the suspect is possibly female, standing at around 5 ft. 2, who spoke in a low voice and was wearing fingernail polish at the time of the incident.

Police say the suspect entered the Casey’s Store on Christopher Road after 10 P.M., showed a knife and demanded cash. The suspect then fled the store on foot and went Eastbound on Linden Street.

The Illinois State Police has now joined the investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Zeigler Police Department.
