Two people have been arrested after the discovery of a meth lab in West Frankfort.

Authorities say West Frankfort Police responded to the Gray Plaza Motel around 10:30 pm Wednesday after it was reported that there was an active meth lab in the room.

26-year old Timothy Carr and 22-year old Ariel Booton were both arrested for unlawful possession of meth, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of meth manufacturing materials, and unlawful possession of meth precursors.

Booton’s two-year old child was also in the room at the time the room was searched. The child was taken into protective custody.

Booton and Carr were both incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail, with more charges pending.
