Traffic was backed up on Route 13 in Carbondale after two separate crashes yesterday.

The crashes took place East of Giant City Road. Two cars were involved in the initial crash, and then a second crash took place as traffic became backed up, according to officers.

Route 13 Eastbound had to be shut down for a period while tow trucks cleaned up the crashes. No injuries were suffered in either crash.
