Dix, Ill. –  man faces four charges related to a shooting.

43-year-old Charles Beckley of Dix is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and two firearm-related misdemeanors. Beckley is accused of shooting 29-year-old Jason Wright in the back of the neck Saturday night at a mobile home park.

Beckley was initially charged with attempted murder, but those charges were dropped. The State’s Attorney’s office did not provide an explanation in a press release issued Thursday.

Beckley is being held in Jefferson County Jail on $25,000 bond.
