Carbondale, Ill. – The chairman of Carbondale’s Human Relations Commission has filed a complaint against a city police officer.

Jerrold Hennrich says a Carbondale Police officer parked in an alley and blocked his truck the morning of July 21. When Hennrich approached the officer, the Southern Illinoisan reports the officer allegedly responded he was “doing traffic” and eventually told Hennrich “since you have an issue with me sitting here, I’m going to sit here as long as I can.

Hennrich says the officer moved after several minutes. Police are currently investigating the harassment claim internally.
