Springfield, Ill. – The student trustee seat on the SIU Board has been vacated for now.

SIU officials say the election in April didn’t follow proper protocol and will likely be held again in September. Adrian Miller was elected with 60-percent of the vote in April, but SIU officials say an “internal error” has nullified those results.

Miller says he plans to run again. He beat freshman Kane Hudson from Peoria.

Last year, the election of student trustee Jesse Cler was challenged in court after the plaintiff alleged other faculty were campaigning on Cler’s behalf.
