The Elixir of Love

The Southern Illinois Music Festival concludes with this delightful comic opera by Donizetti, sung in Italian, with English supertitles, fully staged at Shryock Auditorium. The opera is full of beautiful melodies, performed by outstanding vocalists, with the Music Festival Orchestra and Chorus. Set in the Shawnee Wine Trail, it tells the story of a love potion, or “Elixir” that is really just a bottle of wine! Tickets are available at the door: $25 general and $10 for students of any age, payable by cash, check or card.
