NASHVILLE — After a pair of dramatic semifinal games, it will be Benton and Carterville battling for the Nashville 2A Sectional championship Friday. night.

The Rangers slowed down the tempo and outlasted the host Hornets 41-39 in double overtime. Drake Porter led Benton with 17, and Jaxton Wiggs added 10 including the game winner with 11 seconds left in the second OT.

The Carterville Lions rallied from a 13-point first half deficit to beat Breese Central on a buzzer-beating, game winning three-pointer from Max Lustenberger. The game winner was set up off an assist from Colton Hawkins, who led all scorers with 23 points.

The Rangers and Lions will tip off Friday at 7:00 in Nashville. The Rangers beat the Lions 55-51 in overtime back on January 31st in the weather-delayed championship game of the Benton Invitational.
