DE SOTO, Ill. (WJPF) – Two fishermen found a body early Friday morning in Jackson County.

According to the sheriff’s office, the body was found at about 12:00 am in the Big Muddy River near De Soto.

Authorities believe they know the identity of the deceased and do not suspect foul play. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.
