MARION, IL. (WJPF) — Candidates for Mayor and City Commissioner in Marion will have hearing Wednesday to determine if they can remain on the ballot.
Dennis Ball, a candidate for mayor, and Jason Powell, and candidate for City Commissioner, have had challenges filed against their campaigns. Both on the grounds that neither Ball nor Powell have proof of residency for one full year before April’s election.
At Wednesday’s hearings, both Ball and Powell will have the opportunity to provide proof of residency. The person who filed the challenge must also attend the hearing for the complaint to be valid.
