PULASKI COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – One person is dead after a three car crash on Interstate 57 in Pulaski County.

It happened around 4:20 PM Sunday in the southbound lanes near milepost 6.

State police say that the driver of a Buick Encore was having car trouble and stopped their vehicle partially on the shoulder and partially in the lanes of travel.

A pickup pulling a camper trailer came up from behind and was attempting to slow down when that vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor trailer.

The force of the crash pushed the pickup and camper into the Buick. Police say the driver of the Buick was outside of the vehicle at the time and suffered fatal injuries.

The name of the victim is begin withheld pending family notification.
