MOUNDS CITY, IL. (WJPF) — Funeral services will be held Wednesday for Dr. Carlo Montemagno.

The late SIU Carbondale Chancellor passed away Thursday, October 11 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Montemagno had been battling cancer since June.

He’ll be laid to rest with full military honors at Mounds City National Cemetery in Mounds City at 12:30 PM Wednesday

A Public memorial service is planned for Tuesday, October 23 at Shyrock Auditorium on the SIU Carbondale Campus.
